OCCUPATION: Hero!
PERSONALITY:
- her surface personality is fairly quiet. she doesn't speak much, when she does she's succinct or soft spoken. she prefers communicating through gestures or actions
- also appears to be very shy. she doesn't really approach people first, preferring to keep to herself
- despite this, she's very strong willed and even super stubborn when she decides on something. it's only when she shows this side of herself people realise she isn't timid at all despite appearances
- very empathetic and caring. likes to love and be loved
HISTORY:
- Born in Italy, Francesca was arranged to be married to a doctor by her parents at a fairly young age, which she complied with if only because she was young and naive...she wanted their approval so did everything they asked her, but also had this romanticised idea of marriage and etc at the time, so just expected it to be All Good.
- Having the wedding in Japan, where she was going to live from then on with him.
- Doctor decided it was...kind of a messed up arrangement, really, and that for everyone's sake it would be better if the marriage didn't go through.
- So he, uh, left her at the altar instead of handling it as he should have. She was heartbroken and also her parents wanted nothing to do with her, since this kind of scandal would besmirch the family name.
- She had to take care of herself all of a sudden and decided she'd work her way to a comfortable lifestyle in Japan instead of going home.
- At this point in her life, she owns a flower shop! The ground floor is reserved for work, while she lives in the floor above that.
- She keeps her superhero life totally secret and separate from her civilian life, even to other heroes and friends...i mean if it works that way here, idk im canon blind. IM GOIN OFF WESTERN CAPE COMICS
QUIRK:
Francesca's ability is kind of a mishmash of some of her canon abilities, simply referred to as Galvanism
Its basic function is harmlessly converting non-material attacks that make contact with her body into electricity and storing it inside of her. If it isn't expelled through one of her abilities below, a slow, controlled release of the stored energy occurs, done in such a way that it's completely harmless. At most you might just feel a little static in the air.
However, in combat, she has options. When she converts energy into electricity, she can:
- Store the energy in her body. This ups her physical capacity. She becomes overall stronger/tougher/faster, which scales higher the more electricity she stores. However, this has a limit, and if she goes above what she can handle, her body starts to heat up and burns will even start appearing across her skin. She could hypothetically endure the pain and keep storing energy to fight above her own limits, but it would lead to her own death, so she wouldn't really risk it. Secondly, the buffs aren't considerable enough to keep up with someone's specialty. If someone's quirk involves super speed, unless it's not a considerable buff to their own speed, she won't be able to move fast enough to outspeed them. Same goes for becoming stronger or more durable; it doesn't allow her to overpower opponents, just keep up with them enough to fight them.
- Bolster any action she takes. For example if she jumps and uses up a stored "charge" of electricity, she can jump higher. If she throws a punch or kick, she can expend it to make the strike hit harder. The force of her attacks if buffed like this far exceed what she is capable of when she simply stores the energy, but it uses up a lot of energy which means she'll essentially debuff herself to use it. It's a high risk/high reward aspect of her quirk.
- Expend all of the electricity she's stored inside of her body at once. It manifests as a massive discharge of electricity with a wide area of effect, but it isn't an ability in and of itself, instead simply an uncontrolled release of all her stored energy at once - and because it's not how she's supposed to use her ability, it damages her enough in the process that after using it, she'll be rendered unable to keep fighting. It's a last resort attack that, if it can't finish off her opponent, leaves her completely vulnerable.
The weakness to her quirk is fairly obvious - if she doesn't have a source of energy around her to convert, such as fire/lasers/whatever, she's no more use to someone in a fight than a regular human of her stature, meaning someone above average human strength could take her out fairly handily. It also puts her at a major disadvantage against villains who just fight physically, or smarter opponents who opt to just run at her and beat her up without using their ability.
COSTUME: The armour here from the neck down, but with this visor. Also, a lot of the extraneous looking parts that would take ages to put on aren't really there; it's mostly just a bodysuit with boots and greaves, they just look fancy.
